Appearing in Devon on Sunday 14th June at 2pm until late
Exciting News!
We are delighted (and slightly nervous) to announce that our dream to open our very own indie bookshop is coming true... the hidden bookshop will be appearing in Iddesleigh on Sunday 14th June at 2pm till late!
We are currently very busy getting ready for our grand opening day in our adorable little bricks-and-mortar shop situated in the heart of Devon... and building this website too!
Keep an eye out on our social media pages to keep up-to-date with our progress.
Please note that our shop is very petite... we are even possibly the smallest independent bricks and mortar bookshop in Devon! Therefore, there could be a little wait to access our shop during busy times. We will be open on our Grand Opening Day from 2pm and staying open until late.
Parking on opening day: A local farmer has kindly opened one of their fields in the village as overflow village parking for opening day. You will find it signed upon approaching Iddesleigh from Monkokehampton direction. what3words: ///slimming.feasted.bets
There will be some free bookish goodie bags randomly available on opening day and also every purchase will receive a free raffle ticket to win a £25.00 The Hidden Bookshop Gift Voucher. (Free Prize Draw Terms and Conditions below.)
We look forward to seeing you soon! Happy reading!

The famous Duke of York Inn is directly opposite us and open from 11am, 7 days a week. It is the perfect place to stop for a delicious meal and a refreshing drink... there is often a welcoming fire roaring and outside there are stunning views of Dartmoor or a pretty beer garden at the rear. "The Duke" also offer accommodation.
St James' Church is next to us and the Northcott Hall is a short walk down the road.

War Hourse Valley Country Farm Park
Parsonage Farm has been farmed by the same family for nearly 100 years and is the farm around which the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo was set, along with the parish of Iddesleigh.
It was also once home to Revd John ‘Jack’ Russell, first breeder of the terriers to which he gives his name.
You can explore War Horse Valley – its farming history, its people and its Wartime stories and of course the place where the story of Joey and Albert was born and finish off your visit with a lovely cream tea.
